Benton Sands AGM

Lot owners will have received notice that the Annual General Meeting for Benton Sands is scheduled for 10am on Saturday 3 March in the community room. Relevant documents – agenda, financial statements and budget estimates – will be circulated shortly. Any motions for the AGM need to be lodged with Regional Strata by 15 Feb by email to ‘nowra@regionalstratansw.com’.

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting. Please bring a chair.

As with previous AGMs we will have a sausage sizzle and soft drinks after the meeting. This will be an opportunity to enjoy the renovated area around the BBQ and pool.

Christmas drinks

Benton Sands residents and guests are invited to Christmas drinks at the Benton Sands community centre on Saturday 23rd from 5pm. BYO drinks & some nibbles to share. Those interested in staying for a BBQ could byo meat & a salad. In addition to celebrating Christmas it would be an opportunity to see the now renovated pool and BBQ area. Clean Up Australia Day – 4 March 2018

We have volunteered to participate in the Clean Up Australia Day next year on Sunday 4 March. Earlier this year we did participate as a community for the first time and did well collecting a lot of rubbish around our community.

Plan is to meet at the community room at 10am on 4 March and finish around lunch time for a sausage sizzle.

Benton Sands Pool CLOSED for urgent maintenance

Benton Sands pool will be closed for urgent maintenance. The pool was a busy place over the Christmas and summer holidays. Unfortunately time for some work. We need to replace 2 pumps as well as other general maintenance.

At this stage not sure how long the pool will be closed. We will advise as soon as practicable. Apologies to those keen to relax in the pool.

Notice of Benton Sands AGM

The Annual General Meeting for Benton Sands will be held in the community room at the Facilities Building at 10am on Saturday 11 March. A preliminary notice has been sent out to owners.

Please note that any motions are to be submitted no later than 15 February.

Clean Up Australia Day – Benton Sands

Clean up Australia in 2017

Many of you will be aware of the annual efforts of the organizers of ‘Clean up Australia’ to promote and secure support from community and local groups to do what we can to maintain pristine beaches and native areas. While the National Clean up Day is scheduled for 5 March, we have decided to list our for Sunday 19 March. This will allow more time to organize our team. Plan is to meet at the community around 9.30. We will hold a BBQ at 12 noon

We live in a wonderful place where we enjoy life on Jervis Bay. The Benton Sands Executive Community has decided we should do ‘our bit’ and join this year’s Clean up Australia Day on Sunday 19 March. We encourage as many as possible to join us. This represents a great opportunity for us to clean up rubbish along the 2 beach walks at Benton Sands – Josh and Pete walks – and on the beach and around Benton Sands.

We have registered our ‘site’ of Benton Sands the Clean up website. We will keep you informed of any developments as the day draws close.

Plan is to meet at the Benton Sands community room at around 9.30 on Sunday 19 March. We can split up into groups and do our thing. We will provide BBQ and drinks and ask if a few can stay on for an hour or so to do some tidying up around the community room and the pool.

Art Exhibition Brings People to Benton Sands

During the Christmas – New Year period Benton Sands resident Hela Donela’s exhibition brought visitors to Benton Sands.

The exhibition ran from Boxing Day, 26th December 2016 to Sunday 8th January 2017 and was held at the Benton Sands community room (swimming pool complex).

The exhibition was a great success bringing attention to both local talent as well as Benton Sands community. Sydney based holiday makers, local Jervis Bay residents as well as interstate & overseas visitors were pleased to meet the artist and enjoy her works.

The artist thanks Benton Sands Committee for providing the convenient venue.

Benton Sands Working Bee – Sat 26th March

On Saturday morning 26th March, 2016 starting at 9.00am we would like to encourage Benton Sands owners and residents to join us for a couple of hours of much needed work in the grounds around the pool and community room. The last working bee was 2 years ago and it’s time to do more clearing (shrubs, tree debris, leaf litter and so forth).

Please bring along your working gear and gardening tools – anyone with a trailer to help move the cleared rubbish, please bring it along too.

Refreshments will be available and we will fire up the BBQ for an easy lunch

Benton Sands residents should note that testing of the smoke and fire alarms at the pool and community room will occur on Friday 26 February at 1.30 – please note the details below.

Notice is hereby given that EPW Security will be onsite on the date stated above to carry out the Annual Smoke & Fire Alarm System Testing.

You must at all at times heed their warning signs, comply with their instructions including non-access to certain areas from time to time, and not interfere with their warning signs, barriers or equipment whilst the contractors fulfil their obligations under the Work Health & Safety Act, 2011.
